After some spur of the moment planning... we finally made it. been looking forward to it the whole week actually
Lots of shopping and walking around, it was great fun.
To irma dearest, thank you for tolerating my nonsenses, sneezes, snores, running nose and that fateful yet unexpected "now-the-whole-kl-knows-thingy" at berjaya times square. And yes, thank you for reminding me to take my medicines too...

Was there today for a wedding. My father's cousin's son got married. That makes us second cousins right?
We reached the reception at around 12+. Many of my father's cousins we there. It was even better than Hari Raya. And didn't know that my colleague is one of my second cousin's sister-in-law. Talk about the world being so small.
Anyway, the highlight of the reception was the sword-bearing ceremony at 2pm. Being the "jakun" who never saw such ceremony at a wedding before, I was there to snap, snap and snap away.
To Leftenan Mohd Al-Amin and wifey, Rozana, selamat pengantin baru...

Basic Photography Course - Part I
|
|
tis must be the entry which took the longest to be uploaded... (date started: 20th aug. finally up: 7th sept)
a whole day filled with lots of new jargons and skills to be learnt. shutter speed, aperture, iso... still learning and applying everything that we learnt from uncle john (ariffin).
from botanic gardens to serangoon. then to boat quay to get our sunset and a bit of night shot. by the end of the day, we were sticky and stinky but it was all worth it.
looking forward to other courses like this.
and now, let the pics do the talking...
disclaimer...
not all pics featured here are taken by me. some were by my colleague, haryana and uncle john when they were demonstrating to me using my camera.

Siti's Farewell cum early Bday Celebration
|
|
|
My new colleague for the past few months got her place in NIE. So we threw a farewell lunch and since her bday was coming, we rolled it into one.
Venue: Seoul Garden Marina (for lunch) & Esplanade (for fun)
Hope you enjoyed the time we spent and like the gifts we gave. And thanks for being such a darling, patiently enduring our musing over the foto-taking thingy. All the best in NIE dear. *hugs*

NE Show 2006
|
|
My third year to the NE Show. This year, it's the last National Day at the National Stadium before they demolish it to make way for the new one.
Attending the NE Show always makes me realise how much I love the country. More so when you get to hear the children's voices, in one spirit, singing the "Majulah Singapura" and reciting the pledge. Bergema satu stadium, and it does get touching for me.This, I realised when I was a participant in 1997. Then, I was one of the cheerleaders (now known as motivators) mingling with all the spectators. Now, as a teacher accompanying the kids, I look forward to the event every year.
Of course, watching the parade (aka ogling and drooling over the smart mamat men in uniform... ) and the fireworks are a bonus for enduring the hot sun and long hours waiting for the bus. This year, we got back to school at around 11.45pm. Didn't they say, if we teachers were paid overtime, we'd be rich man...
